Operating Instructions
Connect to power source: connect one end of the in-car charging cord/adapter into the V2, and the other end into the cigarette lighter or power socket.
Battery installation: The V2 has 2 slots to charge rechargeable batteries of varied sizes. Please make sure to insert batteries of supported types into both slots observing the polarity marks on each slot. The charger will not function if the battery is installed incorrectly. The 3 green LEDs above the slot will blink simultaneously to notify users the error.
Charging tips: During normal charging, the green LEDs will blink to indicate the charging progress; Upon charging completion, 3 LEDs will become steady; If the charger detects any error all 3 LEDs will blink to notify users.
Smart charging: The V2 will choose appropriate charging currents based on its intelligent detection of battery types and capacities. Manual charging current selection is also available. The V2 is compatible with: 3.7V Li-ion rechargeable batteries as well as 1.2V Ni-MH/Ni-Cd rechargeable batteries.
Default Charging Current
The default charging current is 1A. After fully charged, the voltage of Li-ion batteries is 4.2V±1% and the voltage of Ni-MH/Ni-Cd batteries is 1.48V±1%.
Selecting Charging Current
After power on, the V2 will automatically select 1A charging current. User can press the function switch to cycle through “1A-2A-3A”. The blue LEDs on top of the V2 will illuminate to indicate the present charging current:
1. 1 blue LED represents the charging current is 1A;
2. 2 blue LEDs represent the charging current is 2A;
3. 3 blue LEDs represent the charging current is 3A.
Li-ion Battery Recovery
Upon insertion of a 0V IMR battery, all 3 green LEDs over the slot will blink together to indicate that the battery is non-rechargeable. In this situation, press and hold the function switch to enter recovery mode. One of the LEDs will go on to notify users. It is recommended to discard the battery if it fails to be recovered after several attempts.
Failing to do so may result in fire and explosion.
Overtime Charging Protection
The V2 will calculate the charging time of the battery in each slot separately. If the accumulated charging time exceeds ten hours, it will automatically terminate charging and all the green LEDs will go on. This is to prevent possible overheat or even explosion due to battery quality issue.
Anti-short Circuiting and Reverse Polarity Protection
If a battery is inserted with its polarity reversed or is short-circuited, 3 LEDs above that slot will blink to notify users.
PID (Proportion Integration Differentiation) System
The PID system will automatically regulate the charging temperature within the safety limit when charging in a large current.
USB Output
The V2 supports USB output during charging. The maximum output current is 2.1A.
